Artist Statement

My artwork takes stylistic and thematic inspiration from the juxtaposition of classic science fiction and the natural world. By combining bold use of color with simple line work and intricate patterns, I create surreal landscapes to draw my viewer into an alternate yet distinctly familiar world.

I like to exaggerate textures, colors and shapes in my parallel versions of reality to emphasize the extraordinary in the mundane and the innate foreignness of our existence in nature. I begin each of my pieces with a specific idea and after a light sketch, I let the idea grow, allowing my hand to follow.

I enjoy creating illustrative art, comic strips, installation pieces, paintings, and digital design.
